The EndoStat™ Endometriosis Audit Database is a simple
method of recording and reporting complex clinical data in a validated and
structured form, giving:
The database has been developed over a five year
collaboration and is the primary tool for our own data collection.
Clinical governance and the continuous audit of results are
here to stay despite the increased pressures they place upon overworked
departments in generating the necessary results.
Accurate audit of results in surgical management of
endometriosis is the only acceptable way of assessing the effectiveness and
morbidity of treatment. However, the tedious task of transferring hand-written
notes into computer systems for statistical analysis can often lead to
inaccuracy.

- Entry is password protected.
- All patient data is held in encrypted files to prevent unauthorized or
accidental (and potentially damaging) access to the source data.
- Database export to Access™ database format includes decode tables for

EndoStat™

Operative Findings,
Treatment and Histology
|
|
Endometriosis
scoring follows the standard American Fertility Society (AFS) format. Score
and Stage are calculated from the data as it is entered.

Treatment
assumes one of four surgical modalities

The
selection of clinical findings at laparoscopy is based on CEPP's own surgical
experience and validated data


Complications,
whilst undesirable, are an occasional feature of all difficult and complex
laparoscopic surgery. EndoStat™ has provision for recording complications to
ensure valid audit of treatment morbidity.

Post Operative
Consultations
|

Two
post operative consultations are recorded using the same sequence of questions
as founds in the initial consultation. This allows for data to be compared
exactly after the treatment progress to produce a validated audit of
effectiveness
|
